Privacy policy
Updated October 15, 2026 · Version 2026-10-15
This page describes the information Mososi processes, why it is used and how to contact us about it.
Who is responsible
The Mososi project owner operates the service and is responsible for its handling of personal information. Send privacy questions, access or correction requests, and account-closure requests to the contact address below. We may ask for information needed to verify that a request concerns your own account.
Information you provide
Registration collects your name, username, email address, date of birth, selected country, password and acceptance of the terms and privacy policy. Passwords are stored as salted hashes rather than readable passwords. Your date of birth, email address and password are not included in public profile information returned by the normal website API.
We also process the profile details, posts, replies, media, messages, reports and AI questions you choose to submit, together with their timestamps and the relevant audience or conversation. Uploaded files can contain personal information; consider what they reveal before sharing them.
Information from using Mososi
Mososi records interactions such as follows, likes, reposts, bookmarks, replies, impressions and message read or delivery state to provide the corresponding features and inform discovery and account insights. Impressions are estimates, not proof that a person read a post.
Session records and technical information are used to keep accounts signed in, manage access and limit abuse. Hosting services may process network information such as IP addresses and request logs as part of operating and protecting the service. If you opt into push notifications, the configured delivery service processes a device registration token.
Why information is used
We use information to provide accounts and conversations, show content to its permitted audience, personalize discovery, deliver requested notifications, handle reports, recover eligible accounts and investigate service failures or abuse. We also use it to respond to requests and meet applicable obligations.
A public profile or post is available to other people. Private conversations are restricted by account permissions, but are not end-to-end encrypted; the backend processes their contents to provide the service. Do not assume that private messages are inaccessible to the service operator or infrastructure providers.
Service providers and AI
The deployed service uses Vercel for the modern website, Render for the Go backend, and Supabase for configured database and file storage. These providers process information needed to operate their parts of Mososi, and processing may occur outside your country.
When enabled, OpenRouter and its selected model provider process Mososi AI prompts, permitted context and submitted attachments. Gemini is used for optional semantic-search embeddings when that feature is enabled. Email, push and live providers process the information needed for those features only when configured and used. Their availability can vary between deployments.
Do not include sensitive information in an AI question unless you intend it to be sent for processing. Canceling or deleting a question cannot undo information already transmitted to a provider. This page does not promise that every provider retains data for the same period or under identical conditions.
Cookies and browser storage
The website uses an HttpOnly session cookie for authentication and browser preferences for features such as appearance and media playback. Some optional features, including browser notification choices, use browser storage. API session secrets are not deliberately stored in browser local storage.
You can sign out, revoke sessions and change your browser's cookie or notification settings. Disabling essential cookies can prevent sign-in from working.
Retention and your choices
Account and content records are generally kept while needed to provide the service. Different records have different lifecycles: sessions expire, abandoned uploads are cleaned up, and some deletions are processed asynchronously. Backups, security records, moderation records or legal requirements can delay complete removal. We do not promise that every copy is erased immediately.
Use profile settings to correct available details, content menus to remove your posts, privacy controls to manage visibility and blocks, and security settings to review sessions. Contact us for account closure, access, correction, deletion or other privacy requests that are not available through the interface. Available rights depend on the law that applies to you.
Young people and policy updates
Mososi requires users to be at least 13, or the higher minimum age that applies where they live. Contact us if you believe a younger child has created an account.
Changes to this policy will appear here with an updated date and version. Contact us using the address below if you need clarification about the information Mososi holds or how a particular feature uses it.
